Meetings

The group has meetings on the first Tuesday of each month (except January and August) to help people learn about various aspects of living with diabetes. The meetings usually start at 7.30 with notices and news, although sometimes the speaker is first.

Welcome to the meeting!

At 8.00 we have a speaker (see our programme) who talks for about half an hour, leaing plenty of time for questions and discussions before tea and coffee at around 9.00. Topics in the current year include neuropathy, diabetes and the heart and Christmas eating.

The meetings are held in the Post-Graduate Medical Centre at the St. Albans City Hospital. There is no charge and friends and relatives are very welcome, as diabetes is a condition which can have an effect on the whole family.

The meetings are friendly and informal, with attendance varying between about 40 and 70 people, depending on the topic, the weather and whether food is provided!
